It was something that started long before I was involved in theatre. Drop Your Pants was a tradition passed down from Beavercreek High Schools upperclassmen to underclassmen for as long as many could remember. Upon questioning, none could tell the origins. It was only after strenuous research, we shall call it, that I found out the truth of the matter.
I know you are confused. So allow me to explain what exactly I am talking about. Drop Your Pants takes place immediately after meet and greet, a casual meeting with the audience in our lobby, which was post every performance. In perfect unison, the males of the cast count down from ten, storm into the house and cross the stage, begin to unbuckle their pants, proceed into the back hallway off off stage right, and then into the male dressing room. Upon reaching this destination, they chant Do you want to drop your pants? Do you want to drop your pants? Yes! And throw down their slacks on yes.
